Dominant 7 to perform at trumpet conference in Pennsylvania
ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s Dominant 7, the renowned 14-piece trumpet and rhythm section group, has been invited to perform at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in King of Prussia, Pa.
The conference will take place May 20-24 and features dozens of internationally renowned artists and composers in addition to a wealth of college ensembles.
The Dominant 7 has performed three times since 2006 at ITG conferences in Glassboro, N.J.; Harrisburg, Pa.; and Minneapolis, Minn. The group was invited “due to its unique style, arrangements and performance ability,” said Dr. Grant Manhart, NSU professor of high brass and jazz studies.
The ITG is a nonprofit organization that boasts 5,000 members, including amateur and professional trumpeters. This year marks the 39th annual conference. For more information, visit
