ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University’s Dominant 7, the renowned 14-piece trumpet and rhythm section group, has been invited to perform at the International Trumpet Guild Conference in King of Prussia, Pa.
The conference will take place May 20-24 and features dozens of internationally renowned artists and composers in addition to a wealth of college ensembles.
The Dominant 7 has performed three times since 2006 at ITG conferences in Glassboro, N.J.; Harrisburg, Pa.; and Minneapolis, Minn. The group was invited “due to its unique style, arrangements and performance ability,” said Dr. Grant Manhart
, NSU professor of high brass and jazz studies.
The ITG is a nonprofit organization that boasts 5,000 members, including amateur and professional trumpeters. This year marks the 39th annual conference. For more information, visit www.trumpetguild.org
