Student center to display imaginative gallery

Kindra HolsingABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University student Kindra Holsing will showcase her art in the Student Center Gallery from April 27 to May 7. There will be an opening reception from 3 to 7 p.m., April 27, to which the public is invited.

Holsing’s lighthearted work often features elements of animal life and fantasy. The exhibit will display several pieces that encompass many forms of media, but the art student specializes in digital media.
While satisfying her art degree, Holsing has also been enrolled in biology and chemistry classes and further defining her interests. She will graduate in May with a bachelor’s degree in multimedia design, and plans to continue studies in science and attend medical school.
The senior grew up in Aberdeen and graduated from Aberdeen Christian High School in 2010. She is the daughter of Kerwyn and Dawn Holsing.

Holsing had visited NSU as part of its art department high school workshop, and appreciated the university’s diverse class offerings.
“Northern provided me with an excellent opportunity to pursue my interests, even if they seem very different from one another,” she commented.
