Fulbright ambassador to conduct workshop at NSU
ABERDEEN, S.D. – Fulbright Ambassador Dr. George Munro will
conduct a workshop at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in Northern State University’s Krikac Auditorium.
 

Munro, a professor of history and former department chair at Virginia Commonwealth University, will discuss his experience as a Fulbright Scholar to Russia.
 
 
Munro, who specializes in 18th-century Russian history, holds an undergraduate degree from Wheaton (Illinois) College and a Ph.D. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. As an ambassador, Munro is an official representative of the Fulbright Scholar program and travels extensively to discuss the program.
 

On his lecturer grant, he taught “Russian History through American Eyes” in the Faculty of International Relations at St. Petersburg State University. He spent his scholar grant doing archival research on the merchants of Iaroslavl province in the latter part of the 18th century.
