ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday, Sept. 20, for the newly expanded NSU Student Center.
The ribbon cutting will be 9 a.m. in front of the NSU Wolf Shoppe, formerly the NSU bookstore, on the lower floor of the Student Center.
In conjunction with the event, the remodeled Wolf Shoppe and newly opened Einstein Bros® Bagels will have grand opening celebrations Thursday. Both businesses are offering special promotions that day.
The Wolf Shoppe is offering a promotional T-shirt for $5, a promotional pair of sweat pants for $10, a free water bottle with purchase to first 250 customers, and door prizes (while quantities last).
Einstein Bros® Bagels is offering free samples, games, prizes and special offers, as well as a coupon book good for one free breakfast sandwich every week for a year to the first 100 people in line. Known best for its fresh-baked bagels and "shmear," Einstein Bros® Bagels also offers a menu including gourmet, to-go coffee; specialty coffee drinks; baked goods; salads; made-to-order sandwiches; and decadent desserts.
“We are excited to bring the Einstein Bros® Bagels brand onto the campus and offer students, faculty, staff and the Aberdeen community additional meal options,” said Dan Hauber, food service director for NSU Dining Services/ARAMARK. “We are confident that the new addition to campus dining will be a popular choice among students, staff and guests.”
Einstein Bros® Bagels, located on the lower level of the NSU Student Center, is open 7:30 a.m.-10:30 p.m. Monday-Thursday and 7:30 a.m.-7 p.m. Fridays. All are welcome.
The $6 million Student Center project added 3,543 square feet to the lower level and 10,305 square feet to the upper level of the facility. The project, funded by student fees, added amenities such as gaming rooms and fireplaces. It also provided meeting space for various student organizations and a new home for NSU Admissions.
