ABERDEEN, S.D. – On Oct. 3, 2013, the NSU Wolf Shoppe at Northern State University will celebrate National Student Day.
National Student Day is celebrated by college stores across the U.S. and Canada to promote student volunteerism and social responsibility.
Charities to Visit
Charitable organizations in Aberdeen have been invited to visit the campus bookstore between 9 a.m. and 1 p.m. to promote their organization on National Student Day. These organizations will have the opportunity to explain their mission, goals and the contributions they make to the Aberdeen community. This will also give students and community members a chance to see all the various volunteering opportunities Aberdeen has to offer.
Confirmed organizations attending National Student Day are: Aberdeen Area Humane Society, Aberdeen Community Theatre, Avera St. Luke's Hospital, Habitat for Humanity, Safe Harbor, Salvation Army, and Sanford Health.
The NSU Wolf Shoppe will also host a variety of events this day, including:
• Special sales event for customers bringing in nonperishable food items. Items will be donated to Safe Harbor in observance of Domestic Violence Awareness month.
• Games, prizes and drawings.
• Free T-shirts and wrist bands promoting National Student Day.
Students and community members are welcome to stop by the NSU Wolf Shoppe to help celebrate National Student Day.
