ABERDEEN, S.D. –The Northern State University English Club will offer substantial helpings of literature with sugar on top during "Sweets and Stories" at 6 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, on the lower level of the Student Center around the fireplaces by the post office.
This annual event spotlights a selection of faculty members from the College of Arts and Sciences who volunteer to read aloud a passage from their favorite piece of literature, ranging from children's books to the classics.
Before the Sweets and Stories fun begins, the English Club will hold a bake sale fundraiser. Students and faculty donate baked goods – from homemade scones to white chocolate-covered popcorn – to be sold as a way for the English Club to raise money. The bake sale will continue throughout the event.
Sweets and Stories is open to students and the Aberdeen community.
