ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will hold the 37thannual Northern South Dakota Science and Mathematics Fair on Monday, March 23.

The event is affiliated with International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF) in Washington, D.C. About 200-250 students are expected to exhibit projects involving biology, botany, chemistry, physics, health and medicine, and more. Top winners will have an opportunity to exhibit at ISEF.

Exhibits in the Barnett Center are open to the public from 1 to 7 p.m. The awards ceremony, also open to the public, begins at 6 p.m. in Johnson Fine Arts Center room 181.

The fair also features the NSU Science Bowl competition, with a junior division for grades 7-9 and senior division for grades 9-12. Judges are approximately 70 professionals from the Aberdeen area; Northern faculty; and upper-level Northern students.

The science fair is put on under the direction of Dr. Jodie Ramsay, NSU professor of biology, and Linda Richards, secretary of the math and science department.

Chairing the senior science bowl will be the NSU Science Club. The NSU Honors Program will be responsible for organizing the junior science bowl.
