ABERDEEN, S.D. (Aug. 10, 2017) – Executives from Microsoft, Financial Forensics and the University of Nebraska Medical Center will speak at a workforce innovation event next month in Aberdeen.
Create ‘N’: A Festival Celebrating Entrepreneurship, Creativity, Innovation and Workforce will take place 9 a.m.-3 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 19, in the Northern State University Johnson Fine Arts Center. The event is sponsored by NSU, Aberdeen Development Corporation, Dacotah Bank, The Workshop and The Training Place.
Registration begins at 8 a.m. The first keynote speaker, Dr. Felicia C. Guity, speaks at 9:15 a.m. After morning breakout sessions, Darrell D. Dorrell speaks at 11 a.m. More breakout sessions take place after lunch, and the event ends with closing speaker Dr. Michael Dixon at 2 p.m.
Guity, Microsoft general manager, joined Microsoft in 2003 and is responsible for its Worldwide PS Education Channel Device Sales. She’s held leadership roles in the Windows Business Group as the WW Silicon Partner Sales and Marketing lead and in OEM as the WW lead for Partner Account Management, Marketing Program Management and Education Strategy.
Dorrell is a founding partner of Financial Forensics, a boutique forensic accounting practice in Lake Oswego, Ore. He practices in civil and criminal matters throughout the U.S. and has served as an expert witness/consultant in more than 500 matters.
Dixon, a Northern alum, is president and CEO of UNeMed Corporation. This company works with faculty, students and staff of the University of Nebraska Medical Center to help commercialize innovative, new ideas that have the potential to improve public health and beyond.
Also speaking at Create ‘N’ will be Michael and Fallon Helm of Revive Day Spa and Helm Marine, Kelly Melius of Common Sense Manufacturing, and Andrew Lientz of DAYTA Marketing.
