ABERDEEN, S.D. – Lindsey Friedrichsen will hold a senior recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in Northern State University’s Krikac Auditorium.

Friedrichsen, the daughter of Stewart and Shirley Friedrichsen, grew up in Huron, graduating from Huron High School in 2015.

Friedrichsen, a music education major with an emphasis in voice, is a mezzo soprano. She will perform “Le Violette” by Alessandro Scarlatti; “Tanto Sospirero” by Pietro Paolo Bencini; “Il Mio Bel Foco” by Benedetto Marcello; “Auf Flügeln des Gesanges,” “Scheidend,” and “Frühlingslied” by Felix Mendelssohn; “Ribbon Bow,” “The Lass from the Low Countree,” and “The Wild Rider” by John Jacob Niles. She will be accompanied by Missy Nguyen.

Friedrichsen has studied under Dr. Darci Bultema during her time at NSU. She will graduate from NSU in May. She plans to student teach in the spring and hopes to go on to teach elementary music.

“I chose Northern because it is the best music and education school in the state,” mentioned Friedrichsen about her choice to attend NSU. “I also chose Northern because it is close to home and the campus is gorgeous. I felt at home when I came and visited.”
