AUCS strings 2017

ABERDEEN, S.D. – Area high school students who are preparing for All-State Orchestra auditions are invited to a free educational workshop at Northern State University.

The first-ever All-State Orchestra Workshop with the Aberdeen University-Civic Symphony will be held 7-9:15 p.m. Tuesday, Sept. 11, in the NSU Johnson Fine Arts Center.

Any high school music student is welcome to attend the workshop, where they will learn from Aberdeen University-Civic Symphony members; Visiting Professor of Music/Director, Aberdeen University-Civic Symphony, Dr. Christopher Stanichar; and other NSU School of Fine Arts faculty members.

Stanichar said students will work on the same literature required for All-State Orchestra auditions, and the workshop will end with a question-and-answer panel of Northern faculty providing tips for a successful audition.
