ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University School of Business’ Phi Beta Lambda (PBL) Chapter/Business Club will be taking donations of professional clothing from the Aberdeen community through Jan. 25 to prepare for their second annual Clothing Drive/Workshop on Jan. 29 from 3:30-6:30 p.m. in the NSU Centennial Rooms.

PBL/Business Club held their first annual clothing driving this past January (2018), hoping to give students and community members access to professional attire to ensure greater success as they search and interview for jobs. 

As a result of the drive’s immense success in 2018, PBL/Business Club has decided to partner with the Department of Labor, NSU Career Services, Revive Day Spa and several other local businesses to host a workshop in conjunction with the clothing drive. The workshop will offer students and community members access to resources to better educate them on prepping for a successful interview and what to expect from a day on the job, among many other topics from local business professionals.

PBL/Business Club is looking for donations of clean, professional clothing in good condition, including black pants, dress pants, button-down shirts, tops, blazers, khakis, dress skirts, dress shoes and accessories for women; as well as black pants, button-down shirts, polos, khakis, suit coats/jackets, ties, dress shoes and belts for men. 

All donated items will be given away for free to students and community members at the clothing drive’s culminating workshop.

Boxes for donations can be found on campus at NSU in Lincoln Hall Room 101 and Spafford Hall Room 204.
