Howard Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: March 22, 2019

Summary: Applicants for the Howard Memorial Scholarship must be residents of Brown County OR plan to attend Northern State University regardless of where they live. Requires application, page one of the federal income tax return, and a transcript. Scholarships up to $1,000 available.

 

South Dakota Soil and Water Conservation Internship Scholarship

Deadline: March 30, 2019

Summary: Applicant must have completed one year of college, have at least a 2.8 GPA, major in an agricultural- or natural science conservation-related program, be involved in natural resource conservation activities and complete a 40-hour internship (if selected). Requires application, resume, two reference letters and program agreement (if selected). Two $1,000 scholarships.

 

KNR Don't Text & Drive Scholarship

Deadline: March 31, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, accepted or currently enrolled at a university within the U.S., and demonstrate good character or high initiative with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Requires an application, transcript, and recommendation letter. One $5,000 scholarship.

 

Credit Union Foundation of the Dakotas Financial Education Scholarship

Deadline: March 31, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be a member of a credit union affiliated with Credit Union Association of the Dakotas for at least a year with account in good standing and attending for the fall 2019 semester. Requires application, list of volunteer work and extracurricular activities, and essay. Twenty $500 scholarships.

 

Cobell Scholarship

Deadline: March 31, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be an enrolled member of a U.S. federally recognized tribe enrolled full time in a degree-seeking program and demostrate financial need. Scholarship awards and amounts vary.

 

Aberdeen Federal Credit Union Scholarship

Deadline: April 1, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be a member of Aberdeen Federal Credit Union (prior to 2019) and the primary member on your account in good standing, enrolled for the 2019 fall semester and have a 2.5 or higher GPA. Requires application, list of volunteer work and extracurricular activities, and essay. Five $1,000 scholarships.

 

Black Hills Home Builders Association Scholarship

Deadline: April 12, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be enrolling/enrolled for the fall 2019 semester with preference given to a child/grandchild of an owner or employee of an association member of BHHBA. Preference also given to applicants with goals of employment in the home building industry. Requires application, cover letter, transcripts, three reference letters, and a statement of financial need. Two $1,000 scholarships.

 

Danielle Lea Wingate Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: April 12, 2019

Summary: Applicant must have been impacted by cancer in some way (through personal diagnosis or a family member/peer) pursuing a degree at NSU. Requires application and essay.

 

Non-Traditional Student Scholarship

Deadline: April 12, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be a non-traditional student attending Northern. Requires application. Multiple scholarships, amounts vary.

 

Edwards Christian Service Scholarship

Deadline: April 12, 2019

Summary: Applicant must have accepted Jesus Christ as his/her savior, be active in church and/or youth activities; must be active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, or any other NSU campus Christian organization and must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Requires application, essay, and reference. Multiple scholarships, amounts vary.

 

NSU Women Scholarship

Deadline: April 12, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be either a full-time NSU employee enrolled in a minimum of three credits or a member of the immediate family (spouse & children) of an NSU employee enrolled in a minimum of nine credits, admitted to a degree seeking program with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher, compiled at least 30 credits at time of application, and exhibit financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Multiple scholarships, amounts vary.

 

Barnard Alumni Scholarship

Deadline: April 12, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be a descendant of a Barnard High School graduate and be attending NSU full-time. Requires application. Multiple scholarships, amounts vary.

 

Native American Scholarship

Deadline: April 12, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be a Native American student attending Northern. Requires application. Multiple scholarships, amounts vary.

 

Critical Teaching Needs Scholarship

Deadline: April 15, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 working in the final two years of education and have been fully admitted to an elementary or secondary education program. Applicant must agree to work in a critical teaching need occupation for five years after graduating and complete a promissory note stating that should the recipient fail to abide by employment requirements, the scholarship will be converted to an interest-bearing loan. Scholarship amount varies.

 

Able Moving & Storage Scholarship

Deadline: April 15, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate business program with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Requires an essay, resume, and current unofficial transcript. One $500 scholarship.

 

1-800 Injured Scholarship

Deadline: April 24, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be enrolled for the 2019 fall semester. Requires either essay or video submission. One $1,500 scholarship.

 

Elmer C. Anderson Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: April 30, 2019

Summary: Applicant must a junior or senior during the 2018-19 academic year. Requires application, copy of completed FAFSA, personal statement, transcript, three references, and a short essay. One $1,000 scholarship.

 

South Dakota Federation of Music Clubs

Deadline: May 31, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be a South Dakota resident enrolled for the 2019 fall semester with a minimum of 30 credit hours completed (freshmen may apply if they have participated in the National Federation of Music Clubs junior festivals). Requires application, recorded audition, transcript, list of activities, essay and recommendation letter. Two $1,000 scholarships.

 

Ampronix College Scholarship 

Deadline: May 31, 2019

Summary: Applicants must be a United States resident, enrolled as an undergraduate student, and have performed at least 20 hours of community service in the last year. Requires survey, proof of enrollment and volunteering, and photo with essay. One $1,000, one $750, and one $500 scholarship.

 

Painless Movement Scholarship

Deadline: May 31, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be either currently enrolled or accepted for the fall 2019 semester, enrolled in a program related to health and fitness and be a member of a college sports program or have proof of extra-curricular fitness/sporting activities. Requires online submission, photo ID, and essay. One $500 scholarship.

 

Randall & Stump PLLC Scholarship

Summary: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, enrolled or accepted with a 3.0 GPA or higher. Requires application, transcript, and essay. One $2,500 scholarship. 

 

Einstein HR Scholarship

Deadline: June 15, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be currently enrolled with a 3.0 GPA. Requires online application, essay, and unofficial transcript. One $500 scholarship.

 

Community Superhero Scholarship

Deadline: June 30, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be enrolled or accepted with a 3.0 GPA and demonstrate history of community service and volunteerism. Requires online application, essay, and unofficial transcript. One $1,500 scholarship.

 

Cherish Scholarship

Deadline: Jun. 30, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll as an undergraduate or graduate student with a 2.0 cumulative GPA. All majors are encouraged to apply; preference given to applicants pursuing design- and engineering-related fields. One $2,500 scholarship.

 

2019 Volunteer Scholarship - DealHack

Deadline: Jun. 30, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be enrolled full time for the 2019-20 academic year currently in good standing and show outstanding community volunteer involvement. Requires online application, reference, and essay. One $1,500 scholarship.

 

Duane Odland Scholarship

Deadline: July 1, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be a child of a Midwest Coast employee, independent contractor or driver for an MCT contractor who has completed one year of college and has a 2.0 cumulative GPA or higher. Requires online application, essay, transcript and two letters of recommendation. One $750 scholarship to be awarded.

 

TTR Data Recovery Scholarship

Deadline: July 15, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be attending during the fall 2019 semester with a 2.8 GPA or higher. Requires online application, essay, and proof of enrollment. One $1,000 scholarship.

 

Min Law Scholarship

Deadline: July 31, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be enrolled for the 2019 fall semester in an undergraduate or graduate program. Requires online application and an essay or a video response. One $1,500 scholarship.

 

ANA Annual Scholarship

Deadline: Aug. 15, 2019

Summary: Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0; enrolled/taken 15 credits in business-related courses; and be enrolled full time. Graduate students must have a bachelor's degree and be registered full time in their graduate program. Requires essay, resume, and proof of current GPA and business courses taken. One $1,000 scholarship. 

 

Filter King Scholarship

Deadline: Nov. 28, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be enrolled for the 2019 fall semester with a minimum GPA of 2.5. Requires either an essay or video submission. One $1,000 scholarship.

 

 

 

 

South Dakota Board of Regents Scholarships

South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship

Summary: Applicants must be South Dakota students who attended an eligible higher education institution in South Dakota. Requires composite ACT score of 24 or higher, a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and completion of the high school course requirements commonly known as the Regents Scholar curriculum. Guaranteed to all students who qualify, $6,500 over four years.
