Soil & Water Conservation Society Scholarship

Deadline: Postmarked by March 31, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be enrolled in and completed at least one full year of study, have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8, enrolled in an agricultural or natural science conservation related major, show reasonable financial assistance need, be involved in natural resource conservation activities, and not have received a prior SD SWCS scholarship. Requires application and essay. Two $500 scholarships awarded.

 

Action Behavior Center ABA Therapy Scholarship

Deadline: June 30, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be enrolled full time and pursuing a degree that focuses in one of the following: psychology, applied behavior analysis (ABA), early education, secondary education, sociology, biology, and other natural or applied sciences that relate to autism. Requires online application, short writing project and a post to a social media site. One $1,000 scholarship awarded.

 

Barnard Alumni Scholarship

Deadline: April 7, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be a descendant of a Barnard High School graduate and attending NSU full time. Requires application. Multiple scholarships awarded; scholarship award(s) vary.

 

Edwards Christian Service Scholarship

Deadline: April 7, 2017

Summary: Applicant must have accepted Jesus Christ as his/her savior, be active in church and/or youth activities; must be active in Fellowship of Christian Athletes, Intervarsity Christian Fellowship, or any other NSU campus Christian organization and must have at least a 3.0 GPA. Requires application, essay and reference. Multiple scholarships awarded; scholarship award(s) vary.

 

Non-Traditional Student Scholarship

Deadline: April 7, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be a non-traditional student attending Northern. Requires application. Multiple scholarships awarded; scholarship award(s) vary.

 

NSU Women Scholarship

Deadline: April 7, 2017

Summary: Applicant must either be a full-time NSU employee enrolled in a minimum of 3 credits or a member of the immediate family (spouse & children) of an NSU employee enrolled in a minimum of 9 credits , admitted to a degree program with a cumulative GPA of 2.75 or higher, completed at least 30 credits at time of application and exhibit financial need as determined by the Financial Aid Office. Multiple scholarships awarded; scholarship award(s) vary.

 

Native American Scholarship

Deadline: April 7, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be an American Indian student attending Northern. Requires application. Multiple scholarships awarded; scholarship award(s) vary.

 

POET Media Digital Marketing Scholarship

Deadline: Dec. 31, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate student. Requires essay, online application and proof of enrollment status. One $1,000 scholarship awarded.

 

Ted & Stacey Scholarship (Ted & Stacey’s Mattress Guides)

Deadline: Aug. 1, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be enrolled pursuing a business or entrepreneurship degree with a minimum GPA of 3.0 and be either a US citizen or legally authorized to study in the US. Requires original idea of products of interest with a new mattress, short essay, proof of enrollment, proof of grades and contact information. One $1,000 scholarship awarded.

 

Einstein Moving Scholarship

Deadline: Dec. 1, 2017

Summary: Applicant must currently be enrolled or a high-school student entering college, provide verification of full-time enrollment, and have a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.5. Requires essay and copy of college ID. One $1,000 scholarship awarded.

 

Elmer C. Anderson Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: Received or postmarked by April 20, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be currently enrolled in their junior or senior year fall of 2017 and be U.S. citizen by birth or naturalization. Requires application, proof of citizenship, copy of FAFSA, transcripts, on and off campus involvement, 3 references, and a short essay. One $1,000 scholarship awarded.

 

Feldco Windows, Siding and Doors Scholarship

Deadline: June 15, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be a legal U.S. resident, currently enrolled or will be enrolled fall 2017. Requires proof of enrollment, essay and email submission. One $1,000 scholarship awarded.

 

DocuTAP Scholarship

Deadline: Dec. 31, 2017

Summary: Applicant must 18 years or older, currently enrolled in an undergraduate program and in good academic standing. Requires essay and online application. Five $1,000 scholarships awarded.

 

FurnaceCompare Climate Change Scholarship

Deadline: July 31, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be enrolled for the 2017-2018 academic year with a minimum GPA  of 3.0. Requires application, transcript and essay. One $1,000 scholarship awarded.

 

Kitchen Cabinet Kings Entrepreneur Scholarship

Deadline: April 30, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen enrolled in an undergraduate/graduate program.  Requires online application and essay. One $5,000 scholarship awarded.

 

Lucidchart Scholarship

Deadline: June 17, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent legal resident, enrolled full-time in an undergraduate or graduate program and have a minimum GPA of 2.5 on a 4-point scale. Requires online application, creative diagram and a brief description of your diagram. One $1,000 scholarship awarded.

 

Doolittle Scholarship

Deadline: Postmarked by May 1, 2017

Summary: Applicants must be graduates who attended Aberdeen Central High School for at least two years. Applicants must be in their sophomore, junior or senior year and have demonstrated leadership skills, civic or community involvement. Preference given to business majors, but other courses of study may be considered. Requires application and three letters of recommendation. Scholarships from $800 to $1,500 available.

 

Russ Keen Memorial Endowment Scholarship

Deadline: May 1, 2017

Summary: Applicant must have graduated from any Aberdeen Public School, currently a sophomore or junior in college, pursuing a degree in Communications or Journalism. Requires application.  One scholarship award approximately $750.

 

Vimbly Scholarship

Deadline: May 31, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be an undergraduate student. Application requires proof of enrollment and essay. One $1,000 scholarship awarded.

 

Spirit of Sioux Falls Scholarship

Deadline: July 1, 2017

Summary: Applicant must live/maintain residency in Lincoln or Minnehaha counties (S.D.). Must be pursuing a business degree full time in a bachelor or graduate program, demonstrate motivation/ability to succeed, and understand the role of business in American society. Four $2,500 scholarships awarded.

 

The AZAZIE Scholarship

Deadline: May 31, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be a high school senior or freshman/sophomore in college, attending college at a U.S. or Canadian university/college. Requires essay. One $1,000 scholarship awarded.

 

Cobell Scholarship

Deadline: March 31, 2017

Summary: Applicant must have membership in a U.S. federally recognized tribe, be enrolled full time, and provide references. Requires online application. Scholarship amounts vary.

 

Worgul Law Firm Scholarship

Deadline: March 31, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be currently enrolled or accepted in an undergraduate or graduate program or be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident maintaining a 3.0 GPA or higher. Applicant must demonstrate community service, have high initiative to further their education, and have strong academic performance. Requires transcript, letter of recommendation, application form, and essay. One $10,000 scholarship awarded.

 

SDRA Jerry Wheeler Scholarship Program

Deadline: Postmarked April 17, 2017

Summary: Applicant must enroll full time in a retail-related course of study fall of 2017, have either graduated high school in South Dakota, received GED in South Dakota, or attend college in South Dakota as well as currently completed 24 postsecondary credits. Requires application process, transcripts and two recommendations. 12 scholarships ranging from $500 -$2,250 were awarded in 2016.

 

The Andrew Flusche Scholarship

Deadline: June 30, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or lawful resident enrolled in college, or a high school senior accepted to college. Requires creating video PSA uploaded to YouTube, online application and proof of enrollment/acceptance to college. One $500 scholarship per deadline.

 

Ampronix College Scholarship

Deadline: May 31, 2017

Summary: Applicants must be a United States resident, enrolled as an undergraduate student and have performed at least 20 hours of community service in the last year. Requires taking a survey and photo with essay. Three $1,000 scholarships awarded.

 

2017 Senior Care Scholarship

Deadline: April 15, 2017

Summary: Applicants must be enrolled in an associate, bachelor or graduate level program in medical, nursing, or a social sciences-related major, planning to pursue a career working with senior citizens. Must be attending classes at the time of the spring deadline. Requires a signed application and essay. Five $1,000 scholarships awarded.

 

American Fire Sprinkler Association Scholarship

Deadline: April 7, 2017

Summary: Applicants must be high school seniors enrolled at a post-secondary institution for fall of 2017. Home-schooled students whose study is equivalent to a senior in high school are eligible. Requires online application process. Relatives of AFSA staff or NATIONAL board members may not enter. Ten $2,000 scholarships awarded.

 

South Dakota Board of Regents Scholarships

South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship

Summary: Applicants must be South Dakota students who attended an eligible higher education institution in South Dakota. Requires composite ACT score of 24 or higher, a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and completion of the high school course requirements commonly known as the Regents Scholar curriculum. Guaranteed to all students who qualify, $6,500 over four years.

 

Critical Teaching Needs Scholarship

Deadline: April 15, 2017

Summary: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8, working in the final two years of education, and fully admitted in an elementary or secondary education program. Applicant must agree to work in a critical teaching need occupation for five years after graduating. Scholarship amount varies.
