The director of the reading clinic is Timothy Houge. Under his leadership, the clinic has continued to grow to serve students who need, and want, to improve their literacy skills.

Timothy’s nineteen years of professional experience began as a second grade classroom teacher in the Wichita School District at Gardiner Elementary School in Wichita , Kansas . He then began teaching in Clark County School District as a second grade teacher at Robert Lunt Elementary School and a first grade teacher at John F. Mendoza Elementary School . Finally, Timothy also served as reading specialist at William E. Ferron Elementary School while residing in Las Vegas , Nevada . Currently, he serves Northern State University as an associate professor, as well as the reading clinic director, in Aberdeen , South Dakota .

Timothy has acquired an extensive teaching experience at the university level as well which includes: Practicum in Diagnosis and Instruction of Literacy Difficulties, Instruction and Assessment in Reading and Writing II, Issues and Solutions in Education, Literacy Practicum, Reading Clinic Practicum, and K-8 Reading Methods.

Timothy Houge obtained his Ed.D. and M.Ed. from the University of Nevada , Las Vegas and his B.S. Elementary Education/Reading was earned from Valley City State University in Valley City , N.D.
