A residence hall for upper-class and non-traditional students, Lindberg Hall can accommodate 62 students and houses NSU's day care facilities, the Children's Center. The structure honors Dr. J. C. Lindberg, a faculty member at Northern who was recognized as an outstanding scholar, poet, philosopher and teacher and founder of the South Dakota Poetry Society.
Lindberg is the only hall on campus set aside for upper-class students. It has a 24-hour quiet policy. There are numerous hall socials in addition to its educational programs.
In the basement of the building is the free laundry facilities with an iron and an ironing board and kitchen area with a microwave, a stove, a refrigerator, and cabinet space. The main lobby can be found on first floor along with vending machines and the hall office. The second floor includes a study room and a computer lab with a LaserJet printer and three PCs connected to the campus network. There is also an air-conditioned lobby with a TV, a microwave, and a toaster.
There is a sink in each room along with a bunk bed and two dressers, closets, chairs, and desks. All rooms have fee-for-service cable TV access and a telephone jack. There are on-line computer hookups in all student rooms.
