RESIDENCE LIFE

Newly remodeled for the Fall of 2005, Steele Hall is a co-ed facility which houses 67 students in a combination of two-, three- and four-person air-conditioned suites.

Each suite contains bunked twin beds (which are also loftable). A dresser, desk, and wardrobe are also provided for each student in the bedrooms. The living room features a sofa, easy chair, micro-fridge and a table with chairs. Each suite also comes with a bathroom area complete with two sinks with vanities, shower and stool.

The main lobby is located on the main level (second floor) and contains a lounge area, vending machines, and a 51" big-screen TV. A kitchen area, the hall office and hall director's apartment are also located on this level. The free laundry facilities are located on the first floor, along with the computer lab and a lounge featuring a TV and kitchen area. Third floor houses a kitchen as well.

Steele Hall is named for Dr. N. E. Steele, a lifelong educator in South Dakota who served as Northern's seventh President from 1939 to 1951. It is close to the Beulah Williams Library, the NSU Student Center, classroom buildings and other residence halls.
