| In the foreground here is snow pack. I had to fight hard to keep Scott from eating this snow. You never know where an elk has done his business. In the background you see Long’s Peak, the highest point in Rocky Mountain National Park at over 14,000 feet. My second summer in Estes Park (1996) I climbed this peak. Quite a feat for a guy afraid of heights. Luckily I was sobbing so hard from fear that I didn’t have the ability to wet myself. Actually, it is little more than a tough hike up to the peak, but there is something unnerving about being able to look over a ledge at a lake some 4,000 feet below. | ![]() |

From left to right, Scott, me, and Will. We got some pretty young girls to take our picture. Unfortunately I was with two married guys, otherwise I would have tried to pick them up with my usual suave style. You know, invite them back to my place for some tropical flavor Hi-C and to see my excellent spider collection. Never fails. Those would be elk in the background. There was some dissention in the group, as Will and Scott seem to have an unnatural love for elk, while I subscribe to the view, “You seen one elk, you seen them all.” The look on my face means I was apparently suffering from an onset of the aforementioned sleep depriving constipation. |
| Umm, nothing to say about this one. Just like the picture. I will say one of the best things about the mountains is the smell. Yes, the sweet smell of nothing. You can imagine how bad Chicago smelled after living here for two years. Chicago has some interesting smells, especially in the summer when the diesel really hangs in the air and the garbage gets good and baked. Mmmmm, garbagey! | ![]() |

Here we are being extremely witty. Obviously, since you can probably read, this is the continental divide. Will lives in Macon, GA now, so he is pointing East. Scott lives in Boise, ID, so he is pointing West. Get it? Oh my was this funny. I relieved myself on the West side, just to annoy California. |
| I know you’ve been wanting to see a picture of my colleague Ken Blanchard. Well what do you know, Ken followed us all the way to Colorado. Please kids, this is a wild animal. Do not attempt to feed or pet him. | ![]() |
