Nationally and internationally known artists each year stay at Northern during an extended residency.
During their stay of a week or more, each visiting artist focuses equally on creating exciting art and working with Northern students through critiques, lectures, and artist collaborations with the community.
With visiting artists, Northern students:
- Learn how to plan, organize and install an exhibition
- Spend 30-minute one-on-one sessions with artists in which their work is discussed and critiqued
- Interact with and observe a professional, working artist from outside Northern's faculty
Visiting artists provide a once-in-a-lifetime experience for Northern students and enrich the cultural community.
