Music: Do what you love

Imagine doing what you love for a living. If what you love is music, the NSU Music Department will help you achieve that dream.

 

 

Training, productions, ensembles

Northern’s music department boasts superb musical training, outstanding musical productions, and excellent ensembles including three bands, a college/community orchestra, three choral ensembles and jazz ensembles.

 

Faculty members strive to help you discover and develop your fullest potential and stimulate creativity and artistic expression in music through music classes, private instruction and participation in musical ensembles. 

 
 
Careers
Music teachers are in high demand – and if you graduate with a music degree from Northern, you will be prepared for the challenge. In addition to teaching, employment opportunities include performing, church music, music therapy and piano tuning.
