What is Welcome Week?
Welcome WEek helps you make the transition to college life. During this multi-day experience, you'll become acclimated to living in a residence hall, meet new friends and connect with Northern and its programs and services. Welcome Week is your opportunity to ask questions and explore everything Northern has to offer.
Can family attend Welcome Week?
Family members are welcome to attend. Parents can help you move into the residence halls, hear the president’s welcome and learn more Northern's support services.
Where and when can I purchase textbooks & supplies?
The Wolf Shoppe, on the lower level of the Student Center, is open during Welcome Week. Once checked in and settled in the residence halls, you should have time before the first WW session to visit the bookstore to purchase books and supplies. The bookstore will be open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and special hours from 9 a.m. – 1 p.m. Saturday. When you visit the bookstore, don't forget to bring your class schedule.
What is September Slam?
September Slam is a calendar produced by the Office of Student Activities that lists all of the campus events scheduled during the first month of the academic year. You're strongly encouraged to attend events, as they offer an excellent way to meet other students and learn about campus life. Calendars will be available when you arrive on campus.
