            Dr. Jessica Daw, Assistant Professor in Health and Physical Education

Dr. Jessica Daw is an assistant professor in Health and Physical Education at Northern State University, a position she has held since June, 2001. Prior to that, Jessie served as a Visiting Lecturer in the Kinesiology department at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign; a position she took after completing her Ph.D. in Kinesiology, with an emphasis in Sport Psychology, in 1999 from Illinois. Major areas of specialization include performance enhancement, motivation, coach education, and the social psychological experiences of youth and adolescent athletes. Jessie's most recent presentations focus on motivation of students in physical education, as well as interdisciplinary physical education and palm handheld technology use in physical education.

Dr. Jeffery Jay, Associate Professor of Science Education

Jeffrey Jay is an Associate Professor of Science Education at Northern State University. He has a Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, a Master’s degree in Science Education, and a Doctorate in Curriculum and Instruction-Science Education. Prior to joining the faculty of the School of Education at NSU, he was a Visiting Assistant Professor at the University of Missouri in Curriculum and Instruction, and a research and teaching assistant in Biological Sciences. He also has science teaching experience as an 8th grade earth science teacher and a 10th-12th grade biology teacher.
