The lesson plans included here are the result of a collaborative project between Northern State University’s teacher education program and several K-12 school districts in northeastern South Dakota.

 This collaborative project provided an opportunity for preservice (student) teachers and inservice (cooperating) teachers to work collaboratively to integrate technology into new or existing lessons for K-12 students. Participants attended two all-day training sessions where they investigated a variety of technology applications. Cooperating teacher/student teacher pairs then created and taught the integrated lessons during the student teaching experience and showcased their lessons at the culminating student teaching seminar. All integrated lesson plans were collected and compiled into a handbook that was distributed to all participants.

 The integrated lesson plans were reviewed by a team of K-12 and university educators; twenty were chosen for publication on this web site. Funding for this project was provided by Northern State University and the Eisenhower Professional Development Program. Additional support for this project was provided by Learning Organizations for Technology Integration (LOFTI), a federal technology challenge grant designed to provide South Dakota educators with the knowledge, skills, and abilities essential for teaching and learning in a changing technological world.
