| Lesson Summary |
During art class, students
are instructed in a variety of paper sculpture techniques. Each student
creates his or her own imaginary paper sculpture bird. When completed,
a digital camera is used to take a picture of each student holding his
or her bird. Before the students leave art class it is explained
that they are to write a descriptive story about their birds. The
students write their stories in the computer lab and insert their pictures
into their document. |

Upon completion of instruction, the students
will have:

Created an imaginary bird using various paper sculpture
techniques.

Inserted a picture (taken with the digital camera)
of themselves with their birds into their written stories.

Instruct students in ways to make paper sculpture
birds. Each child will create his or her own bird.

and in the way to insert digital images into text.

Students will take digital pictures of themselves
and their birds and add these images to their stories.
