Students will research
many aspects of life during one decade in the 20th century and present
their findings to the class using at least three means of technology.
This is a mini-unit that requires several class periods. |

| Lesson Objectives |
Upon completion of instruction, the students
will have:

Integrated at least three forms of technology into
a presentation.

Conducted historical research using at least three
different kinds of sources (movies, books, interviews, etc.).

Presented their findings to the class in an interesting,
informative presentation of at least 10 minutes.

Created a facts-to-know sheet to be incorporated
into a test.

Created a computer-generated time line including
10-20 items of importance.

Created a collage of at least 10 images that accurately
portrays the decade.

| Assessment |
-
The presentation must be at least 10 minutes long,
and be about one decade from the 20th century. It must incorporate
at least three forms of technology, use at least three sources of information,
and address all required topic areas.

The computer-generated timeline will include 10-20
important events that happened during the decade.

The collage accurately represents the decade, incorporating
at least two images from each topic area.
-
The facts-to-know sheet will have at least five pieces
of information from their presentation.

Decide how many decades and topic areas you want
your students to cover.

Decide how your students groups will be formed.

Have as many resources gathered as you can.

Decide how to assign the decades to the groups.

Give a handout explaining the required tasks as outlined
next to Assessment above.

Monitor work that needs to be done--how many pictures
should be found, facts to be included, jobs and responsibilities, etc.
