Spring 2009 Student Teaching Timeline Main Index

 

Student teacher visitation To be arranged by student with cooperating teacher if first session.  Second session visitation day is February 6.
Orientation Seminar: January 14 for first session students. Second session Orientation Seminar is February 26.  Students are required to attend.  This is an opportunity for students and university supervisors to collaborate.
Student teaching begins: January 15 for first session students. Students in second session begin March 2.  Cooperating teachers & university supervisors should complete Periodic Progress Reports and Periodic Progress Notes (three of each) and submit them to the School of Education Office as the experience progresses.
Diversity Seminar:    

March 27 Students are required to attend.

Student teaching dates: Early childhood (preschool/kindergarten) – 1/15/09 – 2/27/09 (first session), 3/2/09 – 4/10/09 (second session).

First session (for students who have completed professional blocks previous semester) 1/15/09-4/10/09.

Second session (for students taking professional blocks this semester) 3/02/09-5/08/09.

K-12 experience must complete field experiences in two of these three areas: elementary school, middle school or high school.
Culminating Seminar May 8 Students are required to attend.  This is a celebration of all your efforts!
Final Evaluations University supervisors and cooperating teachers must return final evaluations & other appropriate paperwork promptly for the student’s grade to be issued.
