Rural Student Teacher Project
History | Benefits | Participating Schools
The Rural Student Teacher Placement Project seeks to place students in small, rural, South Dakota schools for their student teaching experience. Teachers in these towns seldom host student teachers. The student teachers experience life in a small town for which the local school is a large part of the community. Student teachers are supervised through distance technology by university supervisors at Northern State University and receive training and stipends from the E-learning Center to facilitate their move to the rural community.
