The mission of the Northern State University First Year Teacher Induction Program is to help NSU Teacher Education Graduates make the transition from university student to professional classroom educator. The NSU First Year Teacher Induction Program strives to support NSU Teacher Education Graduates via on-site visits to schools located throughout South Dakota and the surrounding area. First year teachers located outside the NSU region are contacted and supported via e-mail, NSU WEBCT, and electronic updates from professional education journal resources. Data collected from first year teacher experiences is used to create a stronger Teacher Education Program at Northern State University.

If you have graduated from the NSU Teacher Education Program since the completion of the most recent semester and would like to be added to the NSU First Year Teacher Induction Program roster, please e-mail the program coordinator at the address above. Please include your name, school location/address, an active e-mail address, classroom teaching assignment, and school telephone number.
