Beth Rasmusson, Director
The University Bookstore, located in the lower level of the NSU Student Center is owned and operated by Northern State University. The prime objective of the store is to provide a full line of textbooks and school supplies for the NSU community. In addition to carrying required textbooks and supplies, the Bookstore also provides art supplies, greeting cards, posters, imprinted clothing and giftware, health and beauty aids, computer software at educational prices, and much, much more. Textbooks are located in room 105 and are arranged alphabetically by course abbreviation and number (i.e. BAD 120, ENGL 104, HIST 122, PSYC 101) and section number (01, 02, 08, 09, etc.). Students must know the course number and section number in order to select the correct book for the correct course. Shelf labels are marked “Required, Optional, & Recommended.” If a book is marked as required, it means the instructor has informed the store that the textbook is needed for the course. If marked optional or recommended, the decision to purchase the book is left to the student. The store stocks both new and used texts. Students save 25 percent by purchasing used texts. Assistance in locating books is available from any store clerk.
The University Bookstore will cash personal checks for up to $25.00. A driver’s license or student ID is required to cash a check. A customer may also write a check for up to $25.00 over the amount of a purchase. Personal charge accounts are not permitted at the Bookstore; however, VISA, MasterCard, Discover, and American Express are accepted.
