The Children's Center, located in Lindberg Hall, provides childcare on a space-available basis for the children of Northern students, faculty and staff, and the community.

The center is licensed by the South Dakota Department of Social Services to care for a maximum of 78 children, 4 weeks to 6 years old. A preschool session featuring a developmentally appropriate curriculum is held daily for children 3 to 6 years old. The toddler program is designed to encourage development of motor and social skills.

The Children’s Center offers contracted childcare every weekday except Dec. 24-Jan. 1, all legal holidays, and when Northern cancels day classes because of bad weather.

Hours throughout the year are 7 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday through Friday. Test week hours are 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.
