The Reading Center pairs successful, motivated upperclassmen with students who need help with reading.
What We Do
The Reading Center helps prepare students for success in developmental reading and test taking.
Reading tutors:
- Work with students enrolled in READ 041 with comprehension, MySkills, and reading-to-writing;
- Assist students with test preparation and remediation for the Proficiency Exam;
- Assist students with test preparation and remediation for the PPST; and
- Help students with general classroom reading
Who We Are
Reading tutors are students who have been successful in English and reading-intensive courses, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, have been trained and are faculty-recommended.
How to Use Our Services
The Reading Center offers scheduled or walk-in appointments for students. Scheduled appointments are preferred to guarantee availability. Contact University College, at left, for an appointment.
