Student Support Services
Are you worried about succeeding in college? Are you unsure about all the procedures involved in getting a good class schedule and financial aid? Do you think you might need some help with your classes? If so, there’s a program at NSU that can help. The Student Support Services Program (SSS) is a federally funded U.S. Department of Education TRIO Program. It focuses on students who qualify for federal financial aid and whose parents haven't completed a four-year college degree, and /or those who have a documented disability.
The staff members of the SSS Program are friendly and helpful, and most importantly, know all about how to help students succeed in college. We provide participants with the following services:
- Personalized academic assistance and support
- Learning Communities where students take a group of classes together
- Tutoring assistance
- Supplemental Instruction study groups
- Assistance in choosing a major
- Assistance in locating financial aid
- Opportunities to attend social and cultural events
