Combinatoriality 12-tone Assignment   William Wieland
  • All rows are combinatorial with their own retrograde. This is trivial and does not count for WW.
  • Any hexachord that has a 6 as one of its interval vector entries or a 3 in the tritone position is combinatorial with another retrograde.
  • Transpositional combinatoriality is possessed by any hexachord whose interval vector contains a zero.
  • Inversional combinatoriality is determined by an examination of the first unordered hexachord of the row.
