Readings:
Class notes must be purchased at the NSU Bookstore. The cost is minimal and you must bring these to class as instructed. These notes will be referred to throughout the semester.

Attendance:
Since this is a practical performance course, ATTENDANCE IS MANDATORY. Two (2) absences are allowed, afterwards every subsequent absence will lower your grade one (1) point. Promptness is also important and lateness (10 minutes or more) will lower your grade (4 lates equal one absence).

Participation:
The bulk of the work for this class is exploration of your acting in different styles and historical periods. It is a practical course focusing on individual development. In order to register any improvement in this area, you must work consistently, in class and out of class. The purpose of this class is to train and prepare students serious about acting. Please do not remain if you are not prepared to work in a disciplined and professional manner.

You must be prepared to work on the first day listed below for each topic or assignment. Missed sessions or sessions for which you are not prepared cannot be re-scheduled.

Clothing:
Please wear loose fitting, comfortable clothing. Warm-up sweats are permitted, if desired.

Written Work:
Paperwork for this class is to be submitted in three segments (as listed below). Please make sure that all of your work is typed, neat, organized and labeled with your name and the details (title, character, act, scene, etc.) for every play dealt with. Specific guidelines for the scene scores are included in the class notes.

NOTE: LATE PAPERS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. NO EXCEPTIONS!
Failure to submit the character analysis will preclude work on the piece and will result in a grade of "F" for that piece.
