Daniel Yurgaitis, the Director of Theatre at Northern, has a BA from DePaul University in Chicago and an MFA in Directing from United States International University in San Diego. During the past two years, Daniel has directed Disney's Beauty and the Beast, 20th Century, Urinetown, StopKiss, and The Mikado for Northern State; Sylvia and Dames at Sea for the Northern Fort Playhouse; Annie Get Your Gun, Anything Goes and The Pajama Game for the Aberdeen Community Theatre and Something's Afoot and Dracula, The Musical for the LaMoure Summer Musical Theatre.

He has been an artist in residence and/or professor at Eastern Michigan University, Cameron University (Oklahoma), St. Mary's College (Indiana), Bendictine University (Illinois), the College of DuPage (Illinois) and the University of Arizona.

He was the Managing Director of Detroit's Attic Theatre and his resume includes directing credits with California's North Coast Repertory Theatre, Arizona's Invisible Theatre, Illinois' Timber Lake Playhouse, Minnesota's Straw Hat Players, Nebraska's Post Playhouse and Michigan's Tibbits Summer Theatre.
