Constitution of the Wolves Tae Kwon Do Club
Article I
This organization shall be known as the Wolves Tae Kwon Do Club. Article II
Purposes
Section I: To provide NSU students and other members of the campus community an opportunity to begin or continue an active interest in Tae Kwon Do, Moo Do style. This style is best reflected in the statement, "the art of living." All members will learn tae kwon do with an emphasis on the artistic and developmental components of the martial art (as opposed to the competitive component). This emphasis will provide all members, regardless of age, gender, and physical ability, the opportunity to learn a physical art, while increasing flexibility, conditioning, and strength. Section II: To provide club members an opportunity for acquaintance and fellowship. Section III: To undertake worthy projects within our scope that will provide opportunity for development of leadership ability that will be useful in future organizational work. Section IV: To enable better acquaintance with university personnel. Section V: To promote martial arts interests through good public relations. Section VI: To encourage members to continue tae kwon do as a life-long activity for good physical and mental health, self-defense, and self-discipline. Article III
Membership
Section I: Any regularly-enrolled student or individual (i.e. faculty or staff member) affiliate with Northern State University, regardless of age, gender, or physical ability, may become a member of the Wolves Tae Kwon Do Club. Section II: The Wolves Tae Kwon Do Club membership fee shall be determined in a meeting of the membership, by approval of a majority vote by members present. Article IV
Officers
Section I: The officers of the organization shall consist of: President, Vice-President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The officers shall be elected annually by a majority vote. Nominations shall come from the membership, and voting shall be conducted as the presiding officer and head instructor determine. There shall be no limit on the number of times an individual can hold the same office. Section II: Roles of officers consist of the following:
President: Shall preside at all meetings.
Vice-President: Shall perform the duties of the President in the event of his/her absence.
Secretary: Shall keep an up-to-date role of all payments by members, keep a record of all monies owed, and will be in charge of posting meeting times and sending out fliers.
Treasurer: Shall be in charge of all monetary transactions concerning the organization.
