College of Arts and Sciences Scholarship
Deadline: March 15, 2024
Purpose: This one-year scholarship will provide substantial financial support in the amount of $2,500 for one student pursuing a major within the College of Arts and Sciences. This is a need-based, stackable scholarship.
Eligibility: This scholarship is available to students currently pursuing a degree within the College of Arts and Sciences. Applicants must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative grade point average and have completed fewer than 90 credits toward their degree.
Application Period: The online application period runs annually January 1-March 15 for the following academic year. For example, applications submitted January 1-March 15, 2023, will apply to the 2023-2024 academic year.

Jeffrey Crane Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: 5 p.m. March 29, 2024
Criteria: Applicants must be juniors; pursuing a major within the College of Arts and Sciences; have a minimum GPA of 3.5; be a leader in campus and/or community activities; and submit a well-written application.
Process: Faculty who wish to nominate a student will have the student fill out an application form, which includes a 300-word essay on an assigned question. Faculty will forward the application/essay and a letter of nomination for the student to the Dean’s office by the deadline. The Dean and College of Arts and Sciences department chairs will review the nominations and select the scholarship recipient.
Award: One $425 scholarship

Dr. Russell Brock Memorial Scholarship
Deadline: March 29, 2024
Criteria: Annual awards are given for the best student technical (science, business, etc) and non-technical (history, philosophy, literary criticism, etc.) paper. Any NSU undergraduate student may enter a paper, but papers must be written during the current academic year in connection with a course in Arts and Sciences and approved by the course instructor. They must be nonfiction, in English, typed double-spaced and with a minimum of six to eight pages of text. The papers must be the original work of the individual student but may be revised and improved by the student after grading by the course instructor.
Process: A student may ask his/her course instructor to submit a paper for award consideration. If the instructor believes the paper is worthy of consideration, they will submit the paper to his/her department chair by the deadline. Each department chair may submit up to three student papers to the Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences for award consideration. The Dean and College of Arts and Sciences department chairs will review the papers and select the scholarship recipient(s).
