NSU Facilities Manager Monte Mehlhoff offers the latest campus construction update, featuring activity at the Regional Science Education Center.

South Wing
Plumbers continue with wall rough-ins on the first floor and are finishing roof drain piping. They're also running copper piping on the second level. Pipe insulation is ongoing.

Electricians are installing overhead piping on the second floor and rough-ins on the first floor, and are working on underground permanent power structures.

HVAC ductwork installation continues on the second floor and duct assembly on the first floor.

Fire sprinkler piping installation continues on the second floor.

The drywall contractor is sheetrocking and taping on the first and second floors in the south wing, and framing the parapet for the roof above the lobby.

The spray foam contractor is installing transition membrane and foam on the west exterior wall and applying foam to the first-floor ceiling under areas with heated floors.

Masons have finished laying and have begun cleaning brick on the east build wall. They have begun work on the west wall.

Carpenters are applying wall backing and roof blocking at the area above the lobby.

Final checks are being done on the new roof.
