NSU Facilities Manager Monte Mehlhoff's campus construction update focuses on the latest activity at the Regional Science Education Center.

Plumbers continue with rough-ins on first floor south and are installing north wing roof drain piping.

Electricians have nearly completed rough-ins on first floor south; are installing overhead  piping on second floor south; and are working on permanent underground power.

The HVAC contractor continues to assemble and install ductwork on second floor south. Fire sprinkler piping is being installed on second floor south.

The drywall contractor is taping on the first and second floors south. Ceiling structure painting is under way on first floor south.

Transition membrane and spray foam are being applied on the east side of the building, with foam application in progress on the first-level ceiling under areas that have heated floors.

Masons continue to lay brick on the east side of the building, and carpenters are installing first-floor wood backing and exterior window blocking.

The floor polish contractor is doing a mockup for review. All enclosures are in place and the entire building is heated.

Heating Plant

Roof work was expected to be complete by Dec. 7.
