NSU Facilities Manager Monte Mehlhoff has issued a campus construction update, in which much work shifts to the north end of the Regional Science Center.
Regional Science Center
North Wing
- Masons are laying brick on the west wall
- Windows are being installed on the south side
- Spray foam is being applied to the north wall
- Wall framing and work on the lobby stairs continues
- Drywallers are hanging sheetrock on both levels
- Second-floor ductwork is being installed
South Wing
- First-floor polishing is under way
- Tapers are working in second-floor east corridor and pods
- Plumbers are doing rough-ins on first-floor restrooms, running heating mains and hooking up VAVs
- Ductwork installation and VAV work continues on both levels
- Controls work is ongoing
Site-wide
- Refrigeration line installation
- Pipe and duct insulating
- The chiller has been placed on the pad in the mechanical yard
- Electricians continue with rough-ins in the north wing, pulling wire to panels, and piping for lights on second floor south
Krikac and north campus pillars
Work is set to begin May 15.
