Health Services Hours

Students: NSU Health Services has some extended days of availability this year for services! The office will be open Dec. 17-20, and open early prior to classes starting on Jan. 2. Regular office hours are 8:30 a.m.-3:30 p.m., with lunch noon-1 p.m.

Holiday Dining Hours

Below are the dining hours at NSU over holiday break:

Wolves Den: closes Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 2p.m.; reopens Sunday, Jan. 6, at 5 p.m.

Einstein Bros Bagels: closes Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 5 p.m.; reopens Wednesday, Jan. 2-Friday, Jan. 4, 9 a.m-1 p.m. daily, regular hours resume Monday, Jan. 7, at 7:30 a.m.

POD: closes Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 5 p.m.; reopens Sunday, Jan. 6, at 5 p.m.

Papa John’s: closes Wednesday, Dec. 12, at 5 p.m.; reopens Monday, Jan. 7, at 11 a.m.

Wolves on Break

This holiday break, we’re kicking off the #WolvesOnBreak photo contest! Share a photo of how you show your Northern pride while you’re on break, use the hashtag #WolvesOnBreak, and you’ll be entered for a chance to win a $50 gift card from the NSU Wolf Shoppe! The contest ends Jan. 6.

JFAC Gallery Exhibition

The latest exhibition up in the JFAC Gallery is “Reflections” by artist Jay Hopkins. The exhibition is up now through Jan. 25, 2019. Hopkins will have a closing reception 6-7:30 p.m. Jan.17. An artist talk will take place at 7 p.m., held alongside the Jazz Festival.

Friends of the Arts/NSU Young Artist Competition

The Northern State University School of Fine Arts has announced that it will launch the first annual Friends of the Arts/NSU Young Artist Competition on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2019. The music performance competition will be open to juniors and seniors from high schools throughout South Dakota and surrounding states. Generous prizes will be offered for first, second and third place winners in four categories including piano, strings, voice and wind/percussion. Click here to read more information about the competition.

Primrose Arts and Lecture Series

The 2018-19 NSU-Primrose Arts and Lecture Series will take place throughout the academic school year at Aberdeen's Primrose Retirement Community, located at 1701 Third Avenue S.E.

Feb. 12: "Hub City History: Preserving and Presenting the Past in the NSU Archives"; presented by Mr. Robert Russell, director of Beulah Williams Library.

March 12: "Ceramic Form and Fragment: Artwork of Gratia Brown"; presented by Ms. Gratia Brown, Assistant Professor of Art.

April 9: "NSU:  At Home in the World - An Overview of NSU's International Programs"; presented by Dr. Leigh Neys, director of International Programs.

Volunteer Opportunity

The Salvation Army needs volunteers to ring bells. Find a friend and sign up for a two-hour shift to ring bells. Call The Salvation Army at 605-225-7410 to sign up or register online!
