Dr. Shalini Mathew earned a doctor of philosophy degree in rehabilitation counseling and counselor education from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University (2019), a master of philosophy degree in school counseling from Martin Luther Christian University, India (2014), a master of science degree in health and behavior science from Mahatma Gandhi University, India (2004) and a bachelor of science degree in family and community science with minors in chemistry and zoology from Mahatma Gandhi University, India (2002).
She has three years of experience in higher education in the U.S. and 12 years of experience in private mental health setting and K-12 schools in India. She has experience in curriculum revision, program development, and accreditation (CACREP & SACSCOC). She also supervised practicum and internship students for three years while earning her doctorate.
