The 2018 Concerto/Aria Competition will be held in the Krikac Auditorium on November 15 at 7:30 p.m.
The Northern State University School of Fine Arts will present their fall Jazz Concert at 7:30 p.m. on Nov. 13 in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Harvey and Cynthia Jewett Theater.
Ensembles performing on the concert include the 2 O’Clock Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Grant Manhart, NSU professor of music; Vocal Jazz Ensemble, directed by Dr. Wendy van Gent, NSU associate professor of music; and the NSU Jazz Combo, directed by Mr. Fred Hemke, NSU assistant professor of music.
Stuart Kestenbaum, Poet Laureate for the state of Maine will be on campus November 13-16.
Instrument Day will be held in the Johnson Fine Arts Center on November 7 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Brandon Barrett and Scott Glodt will hold a senior recital in the Krikac Auditorium on November 4 at 3 p.m.
The NSU Theater Department will present the musical "Man of La Mancha" in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Harvey and Cynthia Jewett Theater Oct. 17-20 at 7:30 p.m. nightly.
The AAMTA Student Recital will be held in the Krikac Auditorium on October 13 from 10 a.m. to noon.
Lindsey Friedrichsen will hold a senior recital at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 4, in Krikac Auditorium. Friedrichsen, a music education major with an emphasis in voice, is a mezzo soprano. She will perform “Le Violette” by Alessandro Scarlatti; “Tanto Sospirero” by Pietro Paolo Bencini; “Il Mio Bel Foco” by Benedetto Marcello; “Auf Flügeln des Gesanges,” “Scheidend,” and “Frühlingslied” by Felix Mendelssohn; “Ribbon Bow,” “The Lass from the Low Countree,” and “The Wild Rider” by John Jacob Niles.
A choral workshop will be held in the Johnson Fine Arts Center on Oct. 3 from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
Alicia Dietz's art exhibition will be on display in the Johnson Fine Arts Center Gallery Oct. 1 to Nov. 30 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
