SERVICE LEARNING IN GUATEMALA
Dates: Spring 2023
- Build a bottle school in the municipality of Tecpán
- Relax at the eco-friendly avocado farm Earth Lodge, disconnect from the busy world and reconnect with friends and nature
- Enjoy a hike, yoga, or a traditional wood-fired Mayan sauna
- Take a community hike, meet the locals, and visit the home of a few local producers
- Learn about the Guatemalan culture, people, history, and civil war
- Visit Panajachel and Lake Atitlan
- Explore beautiful Antigua, a UNESCO World Heritage City, known for its preserved Spanish Baroque-influenced architecture and rich history
- Visit the artisan markets, museums, galleries, churches, and sites of historical interest and more
Estimated Cost:
$3,300
Price includes round trip travel from Aberdeen, nine-day program in Guatemala, most meals, all hotel stays, entrance fees and cultural programs, all transportation, guides and translators. Out-of-pocket expenses: $145 passport, $100 meals not included in program, $200 personal expenses. Scholarships are available for this program.

HISTORICAL ANATOMISTS OF ITALY

- Start with a tour of Rome and an exciting guided tour of the Colosseum
- Experience the Galileo Museum and a Leonardo Da Vinci Workshop in Florence
- Explore Siena and Lucca
- Visit the Leaning Tower of Pisa with its spectacular views
- Enjoy a visit to Museo Della Scala, one of the first Medieval hospitals
- Visit Duomo di Siena, a Gothic-style building with works from Donatello and Michelangelo
- Travel to Bologna for an afternoon of cultural activities
- Enjoy a guided tour of the ancient and historic city of Bologna
- Visit the Bologna market square while tasting excellent local cuisine
- In Bologna, visit Cattaneo Anatomical Wax Museum
- Experience Rome while participating in a service learning project

MOORISH MOROCCO
Dates: May 2023

- Visit Morocco’s beautiful city of Marrakesh and its medina souk and bazaar (traditional Arab marketplaces and shops)
- Visit other historic sites in Marrakesh like the Koutoubia Mosque, Bahia Palace, Saadian Tombs, and the Djemaa ElFna (cultural market square with local food vendors and shops)
- Visit Casablanca and its beautiful historical and traditional sites like Hassan Mosque of Casablanca and the Royal Palace of Casablanca
- Morocco’s capital, Rabat, offers the village of Moulay Idriss, Chellah, and the archeological site of Volubilis
- The city of Fes offers 9th century and 14th-century historical sites such as universities and towers, and Chefchaouen provides stunning views of blue-washed buildings throughout Morocco’s northwestern city

This includes flights from Minneapolis, flights and travel in and from Morocco and Spain, and entry to all scheduled visits. This is a 13-day program with all hotels, entrance fees to all sites, and all cultural programs covered in the cost listed above. Out-of-pocket expenses: $135 passport, $160 cooking class in Fes and flamenco show, $200 additional meals not provided, $200 personal expenses, $360 for NSU tuition per credit hour.

- Explore the Kraków Cloth Hall in Lesser Poland. Kraków Cloth Hall is the central feature of the main market square in the old town
- Enjoy the Gothic architecture at St. Mary's Basilica
- Tour the Wawel Royal Castle and the Wieliczka Salt Mine
- Tour the Royal Castle and visit Łazienki Park, the largest park in Warsaw
- Visit a grammar school in Warsaw
- Visit the Palace of Science and Culture, St. Anne’s Church, St. Catherine’s Church and Saxon Garden
- Explore the World War II Museum and enjoy the Sopot beach in Gdansk
