ABERDEEN, S.D. – Brown County Fair-goers will once again have a chance to win money to attend Northern State University.

Northern is giving away $7,000 in scholarships for fall 2020. That’s seven $1,000 scholarships, or one for each day of the fair, which runs Aug. 12-18 at the Brown County Fairgrounds.

“This is the third year now that we’re offering a scholarship giveaway, and we’re thrilled that this has grown into an event that is drawing so much student interest,” said Dr. Jeremy Reed, vice president of enrollment management and student affairs. “We can’t wait to visit with high school students and their families to talk about all of the wonderful things going on at Northern, and to assist them with any questions they have about their college search.”

For a chance to win a scholarship, stop by Northern’s booth at the fair and fill out an NSU Learn More card. Northern will be set up in booth 00L, located just inside the Expo doors. Promotional items and giveaways will be available throughout the week.

Meet and greets with Northern coaches will take place daily at the booth. Coaches include: Dean Berry, Rocky Burkett, Lynne Dingman, Brad Fuller, Jenny Fuller, Ryszard Gorski, Paula Krueger, Livia Mahaffie, Rachael Norton and Saul Phillips. Watch NSU Twitter during fair week for daily schedules.

Scholarships are for the fall 2020 semester at Northern State University. Full-time, degree-seeking fall 2020 freshmen, transfer, graduate and online/distance students are eligible.

The scholarship drawing will be held Aug. 30, 2019. Seven winners will be randomly selected and announced via NSU social media.
