ABERDEEN, S.D. – Northern State University will hold the 2022 Research, Scholarship and Creativity Forum on Wednesday, April 20, in Beulah Williams Library.

The forum will feature keynote speaker Dr. Ashley Podhradsky, vice president of research and economic development and professor of digital forensics at Dakota State University.

Podhradsky is also the co-founder of CybHER™, an initiative to increase gender diversity in cybersecurity. She has been an invited speaker at several locations, including The Pennsylvania State University, Bureau of Justice Affairs, Women in CyberSecurity, InfraGard and OSMOSIS Conference, among others.

She is the recipient of the EmBe 2017 “Young Woman of Achievement,” 2017 Merrill Hunter Award for Excellence in Research, 2017 and 2018 New America Cybersecurity Fellow, and is a 2019 American Association for the Advancement of Science IF/THEN Ambassador. 

Her speech at NSU is free and open to the public. The schedule for the forum is as follows:

  • 9 a.m.: Oral presentations by student researchers
  • 11:15 a.m.: Demonstration and Performance of the Cimbalom by Matej Cip
  • 11:45 a.m.: Clarinet Trio Performance by Megan Dockter, Therese Haberman and Brooke Thielbar
  • Noon: Keynote Address by Dr. Ashley Podhradshy
  • 1-2 p.m.: Poster session of student research projects
