International video contest 2017

ABERDEEN, S.D. – A Northern State University international student has advanced to the top 100 entrants in a worldwide video competition.

Eduardo Mendoza Reyes-Ortiz, a freshman music major from Bolivia, entered his video, “One Day Closer to My Dream,” in the International Student 2017 Travel Video Contest. The video shows Mendoza Reyes-Ortiz in clips across campus – practicing his saxophone in the Johnson Fine Arts Center, at a lesson with NSU music faculty member Fred Hemke and even playing for fellow students in the Wolves Den.

Mendoza Reyes-Ortiz’s video made the top 100 entries in the contest. Finalists will be announced the week of Nov. 6, with winners announced Nov. 17, the last day of International Education Week. The creator of the winning video will receive a $4,000 cash prize.

Vote for Viewers’ Choice Award

Since his video made the top 100, it is also automatically eligible for the Viewers’ Choice Award – which comes with a $1,000 cash prize. Voting is now open. View Mendoza Reyes-Ortiz’s video and cast your vote online by clicking here: One Day Closer to My Dream.
