ABERDEEN, S.D. – The Northern State University Jazz Ensembles will host a Spring Swing Dance at the Aberdeen Yelduz Shrine Temple on Friday, April 26.

Doors for the event will open at 6 p.m., with music beginning at 7 p.m. The Spring Swing Dance will feature the talent of NSU Jazz Combo 1 and 2, the NSU 2 O’Clock Big Band and the student-led band “Quip.”

The NSU Jazz Combos will perform jazz and swing tunes for dancing. The NSU Jazz Combos are directed by professor Fritz Hemke. The 2 O’Clock Big Band will perform big bands hits of the 1940s and is directed by Dr. Grant Manhart. Quip will offer rock and funk selections for dancing.

Several NSU music major students will also be singing alongside the bands throughout the evening.

The event will conclude at 11:30 p.m. Tickets for the event are $10 and are only available at the door. This event is open to the public.

The Aberdeen Yelduz Shrine Temple is located at 802 S. Main St., Aberdeen.
