ABERDEEN, S.D. – On Saturday, Sept. 23, many Northern State University students and employees gave back to the Aberdeen community in support of NSU’s annual Pack Gives Back event.

The event took place from 10 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Sept. 23. Following a speech from NSU President Dr. Timothy Downs, students volunteered at five different sites in the community, led by staff group leaders. Businesses/organizations visited included:
Aberdeen Public Library
Aberdeen Senior Center
Boys and Girls Club
YMCA
Salvation Army

Students and staff spent the morning assisting the businesses and organizations with various tasks such as cleaning, organizing, yard work and much more.

NSU students and faculty who volunteered include members of the NSU Speech and Debate Team, Kayla Sproles, Corey Klatt, Yixing Dai, Parker Fox, Zander Luckoski, Chase Jacobs, Cheng Chen, Austin Leuning, Traiton Peck, Lindsey Simon, Emily Meidinger, Katie Cochran, Harrison Bruns, Dr. Timothy Downs, Mary Downs, Dr. Thomas Orr, Sarah Botkin, Ross Flom, Mike Johnson and Abbi Patton.

All involved were invited to free lunch on the NSU Campus Green after donating their time to the community.
