ABERDEEN, S.D. - Northern State University students Pamela Gruba and Chase Sievers recently received honors at the Brown County Historical Society’s annual Historical Research and Writing Awards.

Gruba of Grenville received first place honors for her paper, titled “The Second Wounded Knee: An Effectual Response to Centuries of Injustices.”

Sievers of Gettysburg received third place honors for his paper, titled “The Allies of Joseph R. McCarthy.”

Both students received a certificate and a cash prize for their winning papers.
