ABERDEEN, S.D. – Classes will remain online through the summer at Northern State University.

The South Dakota Board of Regents announced today that remote delivery will continue for all public university instruction, including at Northern, through the summer academic term.

Due to impacts of the COVID-19 pandemic, public universities transitioned to online delivery March 23 for the remainder of the spring semester. Today’s announcement to remain online through summer supports continuing statewide efforts to reduce the spread of the virus.

Summer programming varies by campus. At Northern, the summer term is May 11-Aug. 21.

Northern’s priority – and that of all the state’s public universities – is to ensure that instruction continues through the spring and summer semesters.

The South Dakota Board of Regents is the constitutional governing body for Black Hills State University, Dakota State University, Northern State University, South Dakota School of Mines and Technology, South Dakota State University, University of South Dakota, South Dakota School for the Blind and Visually Impaired, and South Dakota School for the Deaf.
