Marlin R. Scarborough Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: Feb. 14, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be a junior at the time funding is received, attending a S.D. public institution, and have a 3.5 GPA. Requires application and essay. One $1,500 scholarship to be awarded.


Northern Electric Cooperative Scholarship

Deadline: Feb. 15, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be a member-system consumer/cooperative or dependent of a member, currently enrolled, or planned to be enrolled full-time in a graduate or undergraduate program. Requires application, essay, transcripts, ACT scores (if incoming freshman), and applicant appraisal. One $1,000 and one $500 scholarship.


Randall Blair Isenberg Alcohol Addiction Awareness Scholarship

Deadline: Mar. 15, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be enrolled/accepted in an undergraduate or graduate program with a 3.0 cumulative GPA or higher and have demonstrated raising awareness of alcohol addiction. Requires resume listing history of raising alcohol addiction awareness, essay, transcript, and online application. One $500 scholarship.


Howard Memorial Scholarship

Deadline: March 22, 2019

Summary: Applicants for the Howard Memorial Scholarship must be residents of Brown County OR plan to attend Northern State University regardless of where they live. Requires application, page one of the federal income tax return, and a transcript. Scholarships up to $1,000 available.


KNR Don't Text & Drive Scholarship

Deadline: March 31, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident, accepted or currently enrolled at a university within the U.S., and demonstrate good character or high initiative with a minimum 3.0 GPA. Requires an application, transcript, and recommendation letter. One $5,000 scholarship. 


Critical Teaching Needs Scholarship

Deadline: April 15, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be a U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident with a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 working in the final two years of education and have been fully admitted to an elementary or secondary education program. Applicant must agree to work in a critical teaching need occupation for five years after graduating and complete a promissory note stating that should the recipient fail to abide by employment requirements, the scholarship will be converted to an interest-bearing loan. Scholarship amount varies.


Ampronix College Scholarship 

Deadline: May 31, 2019

Summary: Applicants must be a United States resident, enrolled as an undergraduate student, and performed at least 20 hours of community service in the last year. Requires taking a survey, proof of enrollment, proof of volunteering, and photo with essay. One $1,000, one $750, and one $500 scholarship to be awarded.


Cherish Scholarship

Deadline: Jun. 30, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be currently enrolled or planning to enroll as an undergrad or graduate student with a 2.0 cumulative GPA. All majors are encouraged to apply; preference given to applicants pursuing design- and engineering-related fields. One $2,500 scholarship.


2019 Volunteer Scholarship - DealHack

Deadline: Jun. 30, 2019

Summary: Applicant must be enrolled full time for the 2019-20 academic year currently in good standing and show outstanding community volunteer involvement. Requires online application, reference, and essay. One $1,500 scholarship will be awarded.


ANA Annual Scholarship

Deadline: Aug. 15, 2019

Summary: Applicant must have a minimum GPA of 3.0; enrolled/taken 15 credits in business-related courses; and be enrolled full-time. Graduate students must have a bachelor's degree and be registered full-time in their graduate program. Requires essay, resume, and proof of current GPA and business courses taken. One $1,000 scholarship. 





South Dakota Board of Regents Scholarships

South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship

Summary: Applicants must be South Dakota students who attended an eligible higher education institution in South Dakota. Requires composite ACT score of 24 or higher, a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and completion of the high school course requirements commonly known as the Regents Scholar curriculum. Guaranteed to all students who qualify, $6,500 over four years.
