Standing Proud Scholarship

Summary: Awards vary. Available annually to up to three students from South Dakota attending to
currently enrolled undergraduate, graduate, and non-traditional students. All students are considered,
but priority is given to those who identify as part of the LGBTQIA+ and Two Spirit community and to those
who demonstrate financial need. Must be a South Dakota resident.

Survivors Scholarship Program

Summary: Offers a minimum award of $500 per year, not to exceed four years, to verified relatives of POW
or MIA who served after December 7, 1941.

Dakota Corps Scholarship Program
Deadline: Varies
Summary: The Dakota Corps Scholarship Program is now open! Students can log in to the new scholarship application site to review the scholarship library, which has a list of all available scholarships offered by the South Dakota Board of Regents.
To be considered for the scholarship you must:
- Have graduated from an accredited South Dakota high school with a GPA of 2.8 or greater on a 4.0 scale. Home school students will be allowed to provide supplemental information to qualify if the information for this requirement is not available.
- Have 27 ACT composite or superscore or greater (or the SAT equivalent).
- Agree in writing to stay in South Dakota and work in a critical need occupation after graduation for as many years as the scholarship was received plus one year, or scholarship funds will convert to a loan.
- Apply for the Dakota Corps Scholarship for a school period that begins within one year of high school graduation, or within one year of release from active duty of an active component of the armed forces.
- Be an incoming freshman at a participating South Dakota college as an undergraduate student in a program that will prepare the student to work in a critical need occupation.
- Be a U.S. citizen or national

Gilman Scholarship
Summary: Awards of up to $5,000 are made for up to one academic year of undergraduate study abroad.
Applicants must be enrolled at an accredited U.S. college or university and must complete a FAFSA (Free
Application for Federal Student Aid).

Innovation in Education Scholarship

Summary: LA Tutors provides students who showcase their creativity and make positive impacts with a $500 Innovation in Education scholarship. On an ongoing monthly basis, this scholarship is open to all currently enrolled high school, college, and graduate students who showcase their creativity while helping those around them (whether that be in a creative fundraiser, an inventive new app, series of blog posts on a particular theme, or another idea).
Requirements:
- Must be currently enrolled in high school or college
- Cumulative GPA of at least 3.0 (or equivalent)
- Must be a citizen of, permanent resident of, or hold a valid student visa in the United States or Canada

South Dakota Opportunity Scholarship

Summary: Applicants must be South Dakota students who attended an eligible higher education institution in South Dakota. Requires composite ACT score of 24 or higher, a cumulative GPA of 3.0, and completion of the high school course requirements commonly known as the Regents Scholar curriculum. Guaranteed to all students who qualify, $7,500 over four years.
